He fell silent. "If not you... then who?"
I had a good guess.
Ten minutes later Emily called.
"Sophia... you really didn't call off my wedding?"
“No,” I said quietly. “You didn't want me there, but I would never ruin your day.”
She sniffed. “They checked the IP address. It came from our apartment. Jessica admitted she logged in to ‘fix something’ and accidentally deleted the reservations… and then lied because she panicked.”
Of course.
“She said she assumed you would believe her and not me,” I said.
Emily's voice broke. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have ignored you. I shouldn't have believed anything without asking you first."
Her apology loosened something inside me—but it didn't heal the wound.
