Bedstraws are called plants of youth. Cold maceration from fresh bedstraw is used in rejuvenating treatments.
I made a cold water maceration of bedstraws as follows:
✅1) I gathered some cleaver bedstraw herb, or the herb of the common bedstraw.
✅2) I washed (rinsed) the herb, as some of the shoots had pulled out with their roots and had clumps of soil on them. If I collect bedstraw, making sure there are no roots, then I do not wash the herb
✅3) I crushed it with a rolling pin, sometimes I grind it instead of crushing it with a rolling pin
✅4) I cut the herb into small pieces
✅5) I put it in a container, filling half of it (4 tablespoons of crushed herb per glass of water) and poured cold spring water over it
✅6) I left it to macerate for 6-8 hours, overnight is fine, then I strain it.
