Many people assume that air conditioning is the largest energy consumer in their homes, but other devices also use significant amounts of electricity.

Induction and Electric Cookers
Induction and electric cookers have become indispensable in modern kitchens. While they are generally safer than gas stoves, which pose fire and explosion risks, they can be energy-intensive. To minimize energy use, it’s a good idea to unplug these cookers when not in use.
Experts point out that even when left plugged in, induction cookers continue to draw power. A single induction cooker can consume between 85-95 kWh per month, while a double cooker can use between 170-190 kWh, depending on the model and its capacity. Unplugging them after cooking can help cut down on unnecessary energy consumption.

Water Heaters
Water heaters are essential, especially in colder months. In the North, families often use 30-liter tanks that cater to 2-4 people. These heaters can sometimes consume more energy than air conditioning units.
When used only before or during showers, a typical water heater may consume 70-80 kWh per month. However, leaving it on continuously can lead to usage as high as 230-340 kWh per month. Turning off the heater after use or unplugging it can help save electricity and improve safety.

Hot/Cold Water Dispensers
Hot and cold water dispensers are increasingly popular in households, replacing traditional electric kettles. These dispensers provide a convenient supply of hot water in winter and cold water in summer, especially for those who frequently drink tea, coffee, or prepare instant meals.
